WHY ENVIRONMENTAL TESTING
Environmental testing is a mandatory requirement because it involves safety and reliability – not only of products but also of life. Market reputations are gained or lost because of performance. For some manufacturers environmental testing is a customer’s demand that must be fulfilled. Others undertake it to support warranty agreements. Some manufacturers offer extended warranties on their products, especially to remain competitive. This can be prevented. Where there is no pressure to prove long-term reliability, manufactures are tempted to regard environmental testing as an unnecessary cost or a hindrance.
